“Khama acted in bad faith” –Sutherland

Roland Sutherland, the senior counsel acting for suspended BDP secretary general, has argued that President Ian Khama acted in bad faith in his actions against Gomolemo Motswaledi.

When the case opened in Lobatse this morning, Sutherland said while Khama said he did not want party matters discussed in public, it was him (Khama) who instructed party lawyers, Collins Newman & Co, to release press statement to the public.

Sutherland said as per the BDP constitution, no resolution has been taken by the central committee to allow Collins Newman & Co as party lawyers in the ongoing case.

Arguing the issue of presidential immunity, Sutherland said it should not be applied in a blanket fashion.
